Nigerian Man, Israel Adekunle Adeniyi, Bags First-Class Honors in Law, Emerges as Best Graduating Law Student

Israel Adekunle Adeniyi, a graduate from the University of Ilorin, has made history by earning the highest CGPA (4.83/5.0) ever recorded in the Faculty of Law. His incredible journey began with seven distinctions in WAEC in 2018, and it culminated in this record-breaking achievement.

He wrote: “Today, I am celebrating a dual milestone – reaching 10,000 wonderful connections on LinkedIn and graduating with the highest CGPA (4.83/5.0) in the history of the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin!”

During his time at the University of Ilorin, Israel held key leadership positions, including Director of Litigations at Equity Chambers and Editorial Board Member for The Jurist Journal.

He added: “Beyond academics, I have embraced leadership opportunities:
– Director of Litigations, Equity Chambers (2020/2021)
– Editorial Board Member, The Jurist Journal (26th Volume)
– Member, Legal Aid Clinic (2021-2023)”

These roles allowed him to grow outside the classroom and further refine his legal skills. His leadership and academic brilliance earned him several prestigious awards, such as the Hon. Justice Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi Prize and the Late Hon. Justice Saidu Kawu Prize for the Overall Best Graduating Student in Law.

Beyond the classroom, Israel also coauthored over 10 peer-reviewed journal publications and participated in various essay contests and moot competitions.
